Steve Patten for Maryland State Delegate
Meet Steve Patten
This Is Why I'm Running for Delegate
“I’ve called Hampstead home since 1998. I moved to Carroll County because of the great public school system. My wife Shannon and I have raised four wonderful children … all of whom have graduated from, or are currently in, the Carroll County Public School System.
I’m a proud small business owner with over 30 years of experience running Beverage Journal, Inc., right here in Carroll County. My deep roots in this community, combined with my conservative principles and years of political activism, have motivated me to run for Maryland State Delegate in District 42C.
As a citizen activist since 2017, I’ve worked closely with Maryland legislators in Annapolis, testifying in legislative hearings, organizing grassroots conservatives, and advocating for local autonomy.
I believe in empowering local governments to govern themselves without interference and ensuring that parents—not the state—have the final say in their children’s education.
Our community needs a Delegate who will defend the rights of families, protect our Second Amendment, and foster an environment that allows citizens and local businesses to thrive. I stand firmly against the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project and am committed to safeguarding our agricultural heritage and local autonomy. I am pro-life, pro-liberty and a strong advocate for the principles that make Carroll County a great place to live and raise a family.
I’m running for Delegate to ensure that our voices and values are heard and represented in Annapolis. Together, we can protect our way of life and keep Carroll County strong.”
